Welcome to Cherry Tree Class

Cherry Tree class is our where we find our youngest learners. It is our class for Reception children, and in some academic years we also have some of our Year 1 cohort allocated to Cherry Tree Class too. 

For 2023-24

• Cherry Tree class is home to our Reception aged children and the younger half of our Year 1 cohort
• The Class Teacher is called Miss Peck
• The dedicated Learning Coach is called Mrs Chadwick
• Learning follows the Revised Early Years Foundation Stage Profile
• The Government approved phonics scheme used to teach early reading and phonics is Little Wandle Letters and Sounds 
• Forest School (second half of autumn term to first half term of Summer term) takes place on a Friday morning and is led by our Forest School Teacher, Mrs Symmons. Forest school is for Reception children only. 
• Cherry Tree class has one P.E. lesson led by our sports specialis teachers, J.S. Sports, on a Tuesday afternoon 
• In December, children in Cherry and Apple Tree classes will take part in a Nativity play performance for the school and their families.
