A rainy day in the woods

This week we had all day in the woods and it rained the whole time.  We worked under tarpaulins, went on expeditions and cooked marshmallows.  Mr McLeod came to visit us with his big umberella. We had a packed lunch under cover and everyone had a wonderful time.

June 2021

The cow parsley has grown so tall so some of us enjoyed hiding in it.  There were lots of worms hiding under the logs.  Look at their different colours

May 2021

We found garlic mustrad growing in our woods, we collected it and made it into garlic butter.  We made bread, spread it with the garlic butter and ate it for snack.

April 2021

Searching for minibeasts and identifying woodland plants

Friday 26th June and Friday 3rd July 2020

We whittled willow sticks.  We used a glove on our helper hand and a peeler.  Our sticks are all hanging in the tree next to our fire circle.

Friday 19th June 2020

We cooked our morning snack on the campfire.  We had bacon rolls.

Friday 12th June 2020

We collected natural materials and made madelas.

Friday 5th June 2020

Frederick and the mice visited us.  We looked for mouse food and built them nests.

20th March 2020

Looking up through the branches.  Can you see the buds on the cherry tree?
